Clippers' Livingston out 8-to-12 months

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (AP) Disgraced former NBA referee Tim Donaghy was a free man Wednesday after serving most of a 15-month sentence in a gambling scandal.

Pat Berdan, a consultant working with Donaghy, said he was released from Hernando County Jail in Florida. Donaghy had been jailed there since August after officials said he violated travel restrictions while living at a halfway house in the Tampa area.

A New York judge sentenced the ex-referee in July 2008 after Donaghy said he took thousands of dollars from a professional gambler in exchange for inside tips on games - including games he worked.

Magic G Carter sidelined against Suns

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Orlando Magic guard Vince Carter was sidelined against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night with a sprained left ankle.

Carter was first injured Friday against New Jersey. Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said Carter aggravated the ankle again Tuesday night versus Detroit. Carter's status is day to day. Read More...

Suns' Barbosa out again with bad wrist

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) Phoenix guard Leandro Barbosa is out for the Suns' game against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night with an injured right wrist.

Pacers F Murphy out with bruised back

NEW YORK (AP) Troy Murphy missed Indiana's game at New York with a bruised lower back, leaving the winless Pacers without their leading rebounder.

Murphy was hurt Tuesday after a hard foul in the first quarter of the Pacers' 111-93 home loss to Denver. Indiana coach Jim O'Brien said he didn't know how long the forward would be out, but said he had trouble putting his shoes on Wednesday. Read More...

Pacers to honor late co-owner Mel Simon

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The Indiana Pacers will honor their late co-owner Mel Simon with a jersey-retirement ceremony before Friday's game against the Washington Wizards.

The Pacers said Wednesday the banner will bear Mel Simon's name, but not a number. It will hang alongside the retired jerseys of former players Reggie Miller, Mel Daniels, Roger Brown and George McGinnis, and ex-coach Bobby "Slick" Leonard. Read More...

Cavs G West faces more charges in Md.

WASHINGTON (AP) Cleveland Cavaliers guard Delonte West was indicted Tuesday on additional weapons and traffic charges stemming from his Sept. 17 arrest for speeding on a motorcycle and carrying multiple weapons.

The eight-count indictment sheds no new light on why West, 26, was riding a motorcycle on the Capital Beltway in Prince George's County, Md., at 10 p.m. with two loaded handguns and a loaded shotgun.
